Cristina Duffy – Kate Monster / Lucy the Slut
This is Cristina’s 1st show with Encore Theatre Company and she is beyond excited to be playing Kate Monster and Lucy the Slut.
Avenue Q has a very special place in her heart as it is the musical she saw on her very first trip to London almost a decade ago and has
been a favourite ever since. The experience has been so much fun and the most challenging of any show she has been a part of to
date. She has always performed in amateur musicals both in Dublin and London including Crazy for you, Fiddler on the Roof, Calamity
Jane, Anything Goes and Copacabana. When not performing in musicals she spends most of her income watching them in the West
End, usually with a glass of wine. She would like to thank the wonderfully crazy cast of Avenue Q and the even crazier production
team for making Encore feel like family from the first rehearsal. #TeamQ-Tees. She is really looking forward to adding “puppeteer” to
her C.V.!! A special thank you to Matt for being such a passionate and enthusiastic on-stage lover. Welcome to Avenue Q!!!
Mandy Gasson – Christmas Eve
This is Mandy’s 4th show with the wonderful Encore Theatre Company and she is beyond happy to be a part of one of her favourite
musicals! She was last seen with Encore in their hugely successful production of Legally Blonde, where she embraced her inner activist
to play Enid Hoopes (Yo!). In her daytime life, she is a professional voice over artist, theatrical photographer and creator of novelty
cakes! Favourite roles over the years include: Lucy in You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown, Gloria in Return to the Forbidden Planet,
Grandmother in Roahl Dahl’s The Witches, Marie in Calendar Girls, Sue in A Slice of Saturday Night, Myra in Noel Coward’s Hay Fever
and Nanny Ogg in Terry Pratchett’s Wyrd Sisters. She dedicates her performance this week to the memory of 2 of the most inspirational
women in her acting and personal life, her lovely Mum and Grandma who nurtured her love of the theatre. Enjoy the show!
Alexander Lever – Newcomer / Ensemble
Alex recently joined Encore Theatre Company for Legally Blonde. He has, however, appeared in many musicals ranging from Oliver to
Fame with other companies, playing ensemble in shows such as My Fair Lady and Annie. He has been lucky enough to play some major
roles like Tevye in Fiddler On The Roof, Bert in Mary Poppins, Gavroche in Les Miserables and some less major roles including the Baker
in Joseph and the Technicolour Dreamcoat, Assistant Commisar in Miss Saigon and Carlos and Sundeep Padamadan in Legally Blonde.
He recently joined a supporting agency and has been selected for fifteen different roles. He enjoyed Legally Blonde immensely and is
really looking forward to performing in Avenue Q
Ben Lithgow Smith – Brian
Ben is fairly new to performing, having made his stage debut as Vince Fontaine in KVTG’s production of Grease in 2014. He joined
Encore earlier this year for his second show, Legally Blonde, in which he played Paulette’s no good ex-boyfriend Dewey as well as the
package wielding object of her desires, Kyle B. O’Boyle the UPS guy. He had so much fun working with such a friendly and talented
group that he jumped at the chance to work with many of them again, along with some fabulous new faces in Avenue Q. Brian is his
first singing role, though he is much more comfortable singing than either dancing or acting! He has enjoyed playing the character,
empathasing with his more laid back style, especially as this meant he didn’t have to master puppeteering on top of everything else.
Off stage, Ben enjoys football, cycling, snowboarding and is also a qualified skydiver. He hopes you love the show as much as he’s loved
being a part of it.
Francesca Paulley – Bad Idea Bear / 2nd Arm / Ensemble
This is Francesca’s 2nd show with Encore, having recently played Margot (the ditzy one!) in Legally Blonde. Avenue Q has been one of
her favourite shows since it opened in the West End and she is so excited to be many parts of it. As a child she lived in America and at
aged 5 got to visit the real Sesame Street so naturally she’s a pro with the puppets… Previously some of Francesca’s favourite roles have
been Julia in The Wedding Singer, Sukie in The Witches of Eastwick and Sandra in Made in Dagenham with Hillingdon Musical Society,
and elsewhere Amber Von Tussle in Hairspray, Sally in Me and My Girl, Shelley in Batboy and Yum Yum in Hot Mikado. She would like
to dedicated her performance to the man who inspired her passion for acting, who gave her her first ever leading lady role 12 years ago
and who she knows will be watching and laughing all the way through this one. RIP Kenny Frier – thank you for everything!
Matthew Pimm – Princeton /Rod
This is Matthew’s 1st show with Encore and he is so excited to be playing Princeton and Rod! He has previously played the parts
Seymour in Little Shop of Horrors, Robert in The Drowsy Charperone and Robbie in The Wedding Singer. In his spare time, he is
“slightly” obsessed with musicals and sees as many as possible! He has recently started a sleeve tattoo with all his favourite shows! He
would like to thank the amazing team of Karen, Abby and Rob for making this show so much fun, getting the best out of everyone and
for making his 1st show with the company so enjoyable! He feels he has made some genuine life long friends with his fellow Q-Tees!!
He also wants to thank his ever patient fiance Jai for being so supportive during the intense rehearsal period.
Aneka Rai – Gary Coleman / Mrs T
Anyone who knows Aneka will know that her main talents lie backstage in the dark rather than under the spotlight! (oo-er!) After
10 years working with other groups, she was ready for a new challenge and even though this involved a short and intensive rehearsal
schedule, several late nights and a virtually non-existent social life, she will tell you it was all worth it. Previous on-stage credits include
Farrah Delamitri in Popcorn, Marge Purley in Witches of Eastwick and Killer Queen in Musicality. Backstage-wise, there are far too many
credits to list but she has covered all areas of the spectrum from props and costumes to producer and stage manager. As many of her actor
colleagues will tell you, “Do not get on her dark side!” Aneka would like to thank her fellow cast members, all the crew/puppet wranglers
for their assistance, and to Karen, Abby and Rob, for all their support. And one final thanks goes to a man who saw her potential when
others didn’t and if it weren’t for him, she wouldn’t have had the confidence to audition at all. And although he’s no longer here in
person, he definitely would find a way to sneak a peek – Kenny Frier, this one’s for you!!
Katharina Stobbs – Bad Idea Bear / 2nd Arm / Ensemble
Kat is thrilled to be joining Encore Theatre Company for their exciting production of Avenue Q. Having been raised on Sesame Street and
the Muppets, she has relished in the opportunity to work with our beautifully crafted puppet cast- she only wished they included a full
size Big Bird… Originally from the Lake District, Kat has immensely enjoyed being involved in another production with Encore having made
her debut with the company as Elle Woods in their most recent production, Legally Blonde. Her first musical theatre role was as a Royal
Child in a local production of The King and I at the age of 9. Roles in recent years include Maria Von Trapp in Mount Allison University’s
production of The Sound of Music, Charity in Anything Goes and ensemble in productions of Les Misérables, Thoroughly Modern Millie
and The Mikado. Kat hopes to be involved in more musical theatre productions in the Hillingdon area in the future. Aside from performing
she enjoys travelling to distant shores, obsessing over the Great British Bake Off, singing loudly to too many Broadway cast albums and
continuing to be Big Bird’s number one fan!
Adrian Wilson – Nicky / Trekkie Monster
Adrian studied GCSE and A Level Drama and Theatre Studies in his native Warwickshire and rekindled his love of performing when he
moved to Hillingdon in 2011. His most recent appearance was with Encore as Emmett Forrest in Legally Blonde. Previous appearances
include: TJ in Sister Act, Jackson Pennington in The Hired Man, Mingo in Crazy For You, Rooster in Annie and Davey in Newsies alongside numerous ensemble roles. Adrian is thrilled beyond description to be playing Nicky/Trekkie, a dual role he’s dreamed of playing since seeing the original London cast of Avenue Q in 2007. He thanks Karen, Rob and Abby for another amazing opportunity and their faith and encouragement, his endlessly patient fiancée (and biggest fan) Grace for supporting him through the intensive rehearsal schedule,
and all of the Q-Tips for keeping him laughing and upbeat through all the stress. In loving memory of Kenny Frier; a beloved mentor and
amazing friend loved and missed by us all x
